Applied Research to provide a better understanding of the contexts, barriers, opportunities, and needs of stakeholders. Baseline and action-oriented research.
Evaluations to document the progress of interventions (mid-term review) and to assess the difference an intervention has made in people's lives (impact evaluation).
Applying qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods approaches.
Scientific and Technical Advisory
- Providing high-level strategic and evidence-based advisory role for organisations such as the WHO Human Reproduction Programme (WHO-HRP Research) or UN Women.
- Providing expert insights and advice to local and international organisations on the issues of female genital mutilation, child early/forced marriage, child labour and gender issues in the West African contexts.
- Peer reviewer for several Journals: International Journal of Sociology and Social Policy, Childhood, Autrepart, Ethography.org; Cahiers de la Recherche pour l'Éducation et les Savoirs, among others.
Capacity-building
- Delivering training on gender issues, child protection, and intercultural competencies in international development for governments and international organizations or NGOs. Development of curriculum and training manuals.
- Training fellow researchers to improve their skills in research methods, research ethics, and qualitative data analysis with NVivo.
Speaking and Facilitation
- Keynote speaker, facilitator of conferences/workshops, event/panel moderation.
- Presentation of my work to practitioners, decision-makers and academics in 25 countries.
Lecturing
- Lecturer for two courses: " Family Structures, cultural dynamic and globalisation" (2016-2020); and “Populations, Families and Health in the Global South (Africa)” ( 2021- present) - University of Liege, Belgium.
- Striving to help students develop their critical thinking and assess their cultural and contextual awareness to better understand various issues of international development.
